About CursiveABC
A focused educational reference designed to make learning, tracing, and practicing the English cursive alphabet clear, accessible, and free for everyone.
Our Educational Purpose
CursiveABC was created with one straightforward objective: to provide a high-quality, distraction-free reference for every individual letter of the English cursive alphabet from A to Z.
While many online handwriting pages are buried under generic blog posts, decorative fonts, or cluttered downloads, CursiveABC focuses specifically on handwriting fundamentals: showing exact letterforms above the fold, detailing stroke directions, providing interactive tracing tools, and offering clean, print-ready worksheets.
Our Pedagogical Approach
Cursive handwriting styles can vary slightly across different teaching curricula (such as Zaner-Bloser, D'Nealian, and traditional Palmer methods). The letter specimens and stroke sequences on CursiveABC follow a consistent, school-standard instructional model designed to make the fundamental loops, entry strokes, and connecting bridges intuitive to learn.
- Four-line handwriting ruling: Top headline, dashed midline (x-height), solid baseline, and bottom descender line.
- Consistent 60-degree slant: Rhythmic forward tilt across all downstrokes.
- True connecting logic: Clear distinction between baseline exit connectors and high midline bridge connectors (b, o, v, w).
Development & Management
CursiveABC is developed, curated, and managed by Imtinan (hello@imtinan.dev). The platform is engineered with modern static-site architecture (Astro, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS) to ensure instant page loads, zero third-party tracking bloat, and offline print compatibility.
Open-Source Fonts & Licensing
CursiveABC uses high-quality open-source cursive fonts licensed under the SIL Open Font License (OFL 1.1), including Edu NSW ACT Foundation and Cedarville Cursive. All font assets are hosted locally on our static server to guarantee fast loading, privacy, and zero render-blocking third-party dependencies.
